We are located just south of Guadalupe on the west side of Cooper road, in the Cottonwood Professional Plaza. Our building is at the back of the business park. Our address is 710 N Cooper Rd Gilbert, AZ 85233. Clothes Cabin Client Service Hours: Tuesday and Wednesday 9 am to 3 pm, Thursday 6 pm to 8 pm. Donation Drop-off Hours: Monday through Thursday 10 am to 2 pm or Thursday 6 pm-8 pm.
Who qualifies for free clothing?
Anyone who cannot afford to purchase the clothes they need. No appointment or referral is needed.
What do I need to bring?
A current photo ID of any kind is required. Please let us know if you need temporary accommodations while you obtain identification.
Children are not permitted in the shopping area for their safety, so it is best to come at a time when you do not have the children with you.
If you must bring your children, they must remain in our small playroom or lobby chairs. Good behavior is expected.
How often can I come?
Once every three months.
Is there any charge?
No. All the clothing is free.
How much clothing can I get and can I get it for others?
The limits change from time to time depending on the current supply. Typically, each individual will be allowed four to seven items of clothing plus socks and underwear. Limits on household linens are one set of sheets, one blanket, or one set of towels per visit.
You may not get clothing for others. Clothing is limited to the yourself, partner, and your children under 18. You may be asked to provide guardianship information.
What do you have besides clothing?
Shoes, household linens (towels, sheets, blankets), hygiene kits. Our Back to Work program can provide uniform clothing required to begin work. Our Homeless Assistance program offers laundry, showers, lockers, and mailboxes to anyone experiencing homelessness.

Clothes Cabin offers free laundry and a shower for any unsheltered individuals. Clients may visit Clothes Cabin during our regular client service hours for these services.

What items are most needed at Clothes Cabin?
- Children’s clothing, especially sizes 4T-16 - New underwear and socks for men, women, and children - Athletic shoes for all ages (our #1 asked for item) - Maternity clothes - Adult t-shirts - Personal hygiene items, regular or trial-sized - Office supplies and postage stamps for the organization - Sheets - Towels - Blankets
What is NOT needed? - we do not accept used underwear or used socks - please keep donations a manageable weight, large boxes and heavy large black trash bags are a hazard for volunteers to move -if your clothing has past the point of being gently used you can mark a separate bag of "recycle fibers" and we can recycle that for you! -we cannot use donations that are dirty, have been left exposed to the elements, or have a strong unpleasant odor.

No. At this time we do not have the resources to pick up donations.
What is the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit?
Arizona allows you to take a dollar-for-dollar credit on your state taxes when you donate up to $400 for single filers or $800 for married couples filing jointly to a qualified organization. The tax credit was previously known as the Working Poor Tax Credit. If you file federal income tax returns, you are also allowed to deduct all your charitable donations to the One Small Step, Inc.
One Small Step, Inc. is an Arizona State-qualified charitable organization. That means all the donations you make to us can be used to receive the tax credit, up to the $400/$800 limit. Our Qualifying Charitable Organization number is 20396.

Clothes Cabin is operated by One Small Step, a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization and is funded primarily through individual donations. It also receives support from foundation grants, corporate contributions, government grants, and community organizations.
No. There are many faiths represented in our volunteers and our clients. We help anyone in need, regardless of religious affiliation or any other factor.
Can I volunteer there?
If you are over 16 years old and can commit to a couple of hours a week, for a period of 6 months or more please complete a volunteer form. There are many different tasks involved in running Clothes Cabin. Most people find their niche in a specific area of service: backroom processing, client service, cleaning, shopping, or Boutique sales. See Volunteer for more information.
